I am an accredited and registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical code for good practice. I trained for 4 years in the psychodynamic model of therapy however I believe my approach to be Person Centered in style. This means that whilst unconscious processes underpin and inform my work I acknowledge my clients as unique people with their own inner resources.
I would describe myself as an Integrative Counsellor as over the years of working and additional training I have undertaken I have acquired an eclectic mix of tools and techniques that I can adapt to meet your individual needs.
I currently work in private practice and for a well known mental health charity providing both long term therapy and short term brief counselling much of which is through the NHS IAPT Scheme (typically 6-8 sessions). Short term work is Solution Focused where goals are set and worked towards. I also work for BUPA as an Affiliate Therapist and an Associate Therapist for other EAP organisations.
I am a Senior Practitioner Coach and believe the combination of solution focused techniques and coaching tools along with my experience as a Therapist is a good combination to offer in either discipline (or a combination of the two).
I also work with couples.
As an Integrative Supervisor I provide supervision to groups and individuals and can offer a limited amount of reduction in fees to Students.
